Craig Hoechstetter is the corporate development Director at BGI Group, the world’s largest global genetics company focusing on oncology, fertility and infectious diseases. In this role, Craig is looking to help provide both funding and/or go-to-market strategies for relevant diagnostics testing companies on behalf of BGI Group. Former investments from BGI include companies like Complete Genomics, etc.

Craig has over 30 years of experience in the medical device, diagnostics, and life sciences industries. Prior to BGI Group, Craig was global sales and marketing director at ASD, Inc, a company that manufactures and commercializes near infrared (NIR) spectroradiometers for the mining, agricultural and remote sensing industries. He was responsible for the company’s integration into the parent company, Malvern Panalytical, a Spectris company, following its acquisition.

Mr. Hoechstetter was also co-founder and vice president of sales for ViroCyt, LLC, a company that manufactured and sold automated solutions for the vaccine manufacturing industry. He staged and sold the company to The Netherlands-based Sartorius, Inc. Prior to ViroCyt, Craig held various sales, sales training, marketing and management positions at Bio-Rad, Bayer (now Siemens) and Beckman Coulter.

Mr. Hoechstetter received a Bachelor of Science degree in Organic Chemistry from the University of Michigan and an MBA in International Studies from University of Pittsburgh. ​
